New telework training tools now online

The Office of Personnel Management announced that it has made new, updated employee and manager telework training modules available online at telework.gov.

OPM Director John Berry announced the updated training tools in a Jan. 20 memo to agency heads. Berry noted that agencies with their own learning management systems will be able to download the modules for internal use, and use them to track the use and completion of training.

The Telework Enhancement Act, signed into law in 2010, requires agencies to make interactive telework training available to managers and to interested employees who are eligible to telework. A prospective teleworker must complete training before entering a written telework agreement.

Another excellent step forward in regard to the Federal Government maintaining internal and external operations & overall business continuity during times of emergency.
